What is an estate sale?

An estate sale is a way of liquidating the belongings of a family or an estate. These are usually much larger than garage or yard sales - although we do provide services to clients with smaller estates who are moving/downsizing. The public is invited into the home and given the opportunity to purchase any item that is priced for sale.

How long does it take?

Most sales take anywhere from 2 1/2 - 3 weeks from start to finish.

What do you charge?

Our services cost you anywhere from 30% - 50%, which includes a charitable donation pick-up once the sale is complete. Should you need additional services, we can talk through those in a consultation.

How do I get paid?

We usually send a final packet out with a check and copies of all receipts within 10 business days after the sale.

How do you price items?

We look at sold prices on ebay and other auction websites. We also have relationships with appraisers and specialists to evaluate rare or niche items.

Should I go ahead and donate items to help get the house prepared for you?

No. You will be surprised at what has value that you don’t know about. We sell everything from Tupperware to fine art and jewelry. You focus on the items you want to keep, we will focus on the ones you don’t.

Can I buy things before the sale starts?

No. We have a long list of loyal customers because we don’t remove items once the photos have been posted online. HOWEVER - there have been situations when a client insists on removing an item from a sale and although we try our best to discourage it, we cannot say no. Once photos have been posted online and a client wants to remove an item, they must pay a buyback fee.

Do you have help to move furniture?

No. You MUST bring your own help to move items. If a staff member does help, tips are recommended to thank them.

What if I can’t pick up my item? Do you deliver?

All sales must be picked up by the end of the sale on Sunday or the specified “extra” day, usually the Tuesday or Wednesday after the sale. If you need to arrange a move, we can coordinate that for you.

How can I pay for my purchase?

We accept cash, card and Venmo at all of our sales. A 3.5% processing fee will be added to all purchases using a card. State sales tax will be collected unless you provide a copy of your Tax ID Letter and proper identification. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Do you offer rentals?
