Lindsay Short

Hi, my name is Lindsay Short, founder of Bennett and Sudderth. Some people call me boss, I prefer team leader. I stumbled into this profession after a 10+ year college career and accidentally found my calling in life. I pinch myself regularly to make sure I’m not dreaming.

I am active in all aspects of the business, including everything from scheduling and attending consultations, to managing my staff on-site and sitting behind the register during sales. I get a thrill out of finding what I’m looking for on a google image search and think in another life I must have been a detective.

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Furnishings and Interiors. We have serviced over 300 clients and have a strong portfolio that helped create our three-part process and network through “word of mouth” marketing. I have refined my craft as a curator of clients, customers, and curiosities and I am proud of the relationships I have created over the years.

My mother has been with the company since day one and still works several days a week. She lives in a beautiful home built in 1902 that is filled with treasures from her lifetime of collecting. She raised me in antique stores and auction houses and taught me to appreciate the beauty and value in old “things,” which is really what propels this business. Through exposure, research and touch, I can usually tell a story of when and where something was made, attach a value to it, and predict how it will do in today’s market.

I have an additional support system of staff members, affiliate companies, mentors, and referral sources that I have hand picked because of their experience, charisma, and work ethic. I foster a healthy and positive work environment where all people are welcome.

Outside of work, you can usually find me with my husband and dogs exploring - whether that is in our backyard, at a new restaurant, or traveling across the country or abroad. I still like to shop at thrift and antique stores and get excited when I find something special to add to one of my collections. I frequent Your Dekalb Farmers Market and love time with my girlfriends. The kitchen is my happy place.

I invite you to dig around on our website to learn more about who we are and what we do. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with questions and I hope to hear from you soon.

Kay Daniel

My name is Kay Sudderth Daniel, Lindsay’s mom, friend, confidant and sounding board. We have been working together for the past 15 years and we have a flow, an ease, an understanding and respect for each other, and we work well together. I have been with Bennett and Sudderth since our first sale in 2014 and provide support to Lindsay and her team through every part of the process.

My experience comes from collecting over the past 35 years, owning and operating two antique stores and surrounding myself with others who love this business as much as I do. I had some great mentors who were “pickers” long before anyone knew what a picker actually was.

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to a beautiful family. I am surrounded by a wonderful group of friends who call me a people collector rather than an antique collector.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, wine, gardening, traveling and truly all aspects of life. I love going to work everyday and spending time with such a great group of people.

Kara Parisi

Hey y’all, my name is Kara Parisi. I am a long time shopper at Bennett and Sudderth and finally got to join the team in November of 2020, where I have stepped into the role of Project Manager in 2023. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and have fond memories of thrifting and going “junkin” with my Mom. My passion for vintage clothing led me to study Clothing, Textiles, and Merchandising at Florida State University. After college I found my dream job at 22, running a vintage shop in downtown Savannah. My love and fascination of other people’s past has stayed with me, whether it’s looking through old photos and letters, drooling over delicate handcrafted silk nightgowns, or finding dainty salt dishes that were in a place setting for a formal dinner party. Other than finding vintage treasures, I have an appreciation for food and enjoy anything from a diner grilled cheese to bone marrow, with a cocktail of course. I love to tap dance, plan themed parties, binge watch Real Housewives, daydream with my husband of travel destinations, and can count on memes to keep me laughing all day long.

Rebecca Holt

Hey! My name is Rebecca Holt, creator of this website and doer of website maintenance and a smidge of design work for Bennett and Sudderth/Mother Lode. I am a full time metalsmith who just discovered my love for freelance website design this past year. I went to Virginia Commonwealth University for a metalsmithing BFA degree in Richmond, VA, where I grew up. After completing the program, I got married and moved to Atlanta, GA with my husband in 2015 where I went full time with my jewelry business. My jewelry work is for sale at Mother Lode (as well as available now on my website)! I love spending time with my husband, Dale, and black lab, Midnight. When I’m not enjoying a new fandom tv show or movie series I’m usually playing Kingdom Hearts or discovering art shows I’d love to attend.

Maxim Ermine

Hey, I’m Max. Originally I am from Russia and I came to the states in the 1990’s. In my spare time I collect and repair old cameras, which is when I discovered my love for vintage and taught myself photography skills. I started collecting cameras 13 years ago after finding an old Minolta at a yard sale…thus, being interested in a position with Bennett and Sudderth. I’m excited to be adding photography to the list of the many things I do for Bennett and Sudderth, starting in the next few weeks!
